      The Official Danny Gatton Web site: Steve Wolf, Barry Hart and Bruce Swaim were all long-term members of various Gatton led groups. Barry & Bruce spent much of the 1980's as members of Gatton's "Fun House." Steve was the bass player for "The Redneck Jazz Explosion" and produced the acclaimed 1996 release "The Redneck Jazz Explosion - Live at the Cellar Door" for the NRG Record label. This well recorded set features Danny in the company of Nashville legend, Buddy Emmons. The Gatton site also features a nice write-up on Swing Speak's "Well Spoken" CD (look under "News"). Swing Speak was invited to play for the 1998 Gatton Tribute Concert at The Birchmere in Alexandria Virginia.

      Dave Chappell: Easily one of the finest guitarists in the Mid Atlantic, Dave has twice won the "Musician Of The Year" at the Washington Area Music Awards. In 2006 Dave and Swing Speak joined forces and they continue to perform togther in a variey of formats.

      JV's Restaurant: At one time great neighborhood bars featuring live music were common. Now they are a rarity. JV's has been proudly serving up live music, beer and home cooked food since 1947. This place is a treasure. Also visit their MYSPACE page.

      Tom Principato: Those who may have followed Steve Wolf's career for the last two and a half decades know that he spent much of that time in the company of Tom Principato. Steve spent four and a half years touring the US and Europe during the late 1980's with The Tom Principato Band, and appears on at least a half dozen Principato recordings including "Smokin," "I Know What You're Thinkin," "In The Clouds," "Really Blue," and "Live In Europe 1988." Both Wolf and Principato were founding members of The Assassins, a group led by Alligator recording artist Jimmy Thackery. A compilation CD of the first two recordings by that band was released in Europe during 1997. Tom and Steve also played together as members of the swing trio "Principato, Kennedy & Wolf. Swing Speak's recent CD release "Well Spoken" includes a guest appearance by Tom.

      Phil Woods: Vist the official web site of another jazz legend.

      John Previtti: A top Washington DC bass player who is best known for his many years with guitar legend Danny Gatton. John has lent his fine bass work to a roster of great artists in many genres. Steve Wolf and John met each other in the early 1970's while in the music department together at Prince Georges College. To this day they continue to play with many of the same musicians, and frequently fill in for each other on various gigs.

      Barbara Martin: For five years, Steve Wolf was, along with guitarist, Mac Walter, a regular member of the group led by singer/songwriter Barb Martin. Steve appeared on her "Between White and Black" CD, and produced her CD: "A Different View." Barb, along with Swing Speak, was listed in the Virginia Commission for the Arts Touring Catalogue, and toured extensively around that state doing concerts and school workshops.

      Cathy Ponton-King: During 1994 & 1995 Bruce and Steve both made regular appearances with Cathy's well-known blues group. Steve performed with her at the 1995 Wolf Trap Jazz and Blues Festival. Hers is a very well designed web site for those who enjoy nice graphics.

      Right On Rhythm: Wayne Kahn's hobby of making live tapes of DC and Baltimore area blues musicians has become an increasingly serious enterprise. He now has a web site dedicated to promoting the area's musicians and has released several CDs on his Right On Rhythm label. Swing Speak is among the many artists featured on this site.

      Basssick.com is a great resource for bass players. It has links to many of the country's great bass players, plus links to bass player supplies and music outlets.

      Bill Holland's Rent's Due Band was an ever-present force in DC area music during the 1970's, 1980's & 1990's. Many of Washington's best musicians passed through this historic outfit.
